If you are looking for a job, or a career, you should attend one or more of these four FREE hiring fairs in NYC next week and next month, to meet with top hiring decision makers from the Tri-State area’s best employers. Hundreds of jobs are available.
Update your resume today to get ready, and bring lots of copies, along with business cards.
Show up dressed for success – that means no ripped jeans, snarky t-shirts, hoodies, work-out clothes or flip-flops. You are likely to be turned away unless you are in smart business dress.
- Networking tip: Wear something with two pockets – one for business cards to hand out to recruiters, the other for business cards the recruiters hand you. It’s more efficient, and more professional, than fumbling through a messy and ever-growing pile.
NYCOTC also recommends you bring an old-fashioned notepad and pen to make notes, since if you are poking around on your mobile device, it could appear to a potential employer that you are snap chatting or face booking with friends instead of paying attention to what the recruiter has to say.
Writing it down presents you as interested and engaged, not distracted, with the attention span of a tweet.
There are two fairs on March 29, and two on April 19, and all four are at hotels in Midtown or the Far West Side.
Career opportunities include jobs with:
- Base salary plus commission
- Flexible schedule
- Opportunity for advancement
- Car/Gas allowance
- Healthcare
- Stock Options
- Retirement Plans
- Sales Awards/Bonuses/Trips
