The 8th annual FREE Summer Movie Series aboard the Intrepid Museum flight deck kicks off again this week with the ever-popular Top Gun, during Fleet Week New York, plus Star Trek films on future dates.
Each film is introduced by a special guest, including Star Trek screenwriter Nicholas Meyer and David Baranek, Topgun instructor, former naval aviator and pilot in the film.
Films are shown on the flight deck. Screenings are either on Thursday or Friday evenings. Access to the flight deck begins at 7pm, and the program begins at sunset, weather permitting. All the films are PG rated.
Free admission tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis before the screening. Space is limited. You’re welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets, since seating is not provided.
Special Fleet Week New York screening of Top Gun is Friday, May 27th.
- BTW – this is the 30th anniversary of Top Gun, released in 1986. Pardon the pun, but time flies!
