NYC Free: IDNYC Additional Benefits

IDNYC benefitsThe IDNYC card offers multiple benefits including FREE museum admission, discounts on shopping and entertainment, and can be used as a library card for the NYPL, Brooklyn and Queens library systems. The program is expanding with new participants, to help make NYC more affordable.

The IDNYC card is FREE, for NYC residents. Here’s how to apply

Here’s what’s new:

IDNYC benefitsBike New York
Bike New York, a nonprofit organization that promotes and encourages bicycling and bicycle safety through education, community outreach and events, is the organizer of the TD Five Boro Bike Tour (the largest bike ride in the U.S.), Bike Expo New York, and smaller regional and community rides.

IDNYC Cardholders can get 50% off a new one-year membership. This benefit does not extend to past or current members or renewals. Benefits include early access to the TD Five Boro Bike Tour registration; discounts on bikes, accessories, and repairs; invitations to special rides and events; welcome kit with custom T-shirt and other merchandise; and more. E-mail membership@bike.nyc for instructions on redeeming your membership.

  • Citi Bike has been a participant for some time. STheave 15% on your annual Citi Bike membership during your first year as a new Citi Bike member. Click here to sign up with your IDNYC card.

IDNYC benfitsKidPass
KidPass is a new kind of monthly membership that allows parents to instantly search and book over 20,000 kids’ activities including baby music classes, indoor play spaces, swimming lessons, soccer programs, arts & crafts workshops, museums, camps, family experiences, and more! KidPass is the largest kids’ activity site in New York City and is used by thousands of parents every day. Get access to the city’s best kids’ programs and drop-in to classes with a touch of a button.

As an IDNYC cardholder, you can get a 50% discount on your first month on the Basic Membership plan, or a 20% discount on your first three months of basic membership. Discounts are only for cardholders who are first time members, and  limited to one redemption per household. To access your membership benefit, go to the KidPass IDNYC page and enter the IDNYC  number on the front of your card to receive a promo code.

  • The IDNYC card can be used at any public library in NYC. It can be easily integrated with your account at the New York, Brooklyn, and Queens Public Library Systems, and it is the only card that is accepted across all three. To use your IDNYC card at a library, simply ask a librarian or a library clerk at your local branch to connect your IDNYC card with your current library account. If you are opening a new account, you can sign up and use your IDNYC card as your library card.

IDNYC benefitsGulliver’s Gate
Gulliver’s Gate, Inc. is a cultural attraction in the heart of Times Square. Located in the historic New York Times building at 216 West 44th Street, this is a 50,000 square foot interactive model of the great monuments and moments from human history. See miniature versions of many of the world’s greatest monuments including the Empire State Building, Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall of China, and more.

IDNYC cardholders will receive 25% off the regular entry fee. To access your discount, enter your IDNYC card number when purchasing tickets on the Gulliver’s Gate website, or show your card at the box office when purchasing tickets in person.

IDNYC benefitsVictorian Gardens Amusement Park
Located at Wollman Rink in Central Park, Victorian Gardens is a traditional family amusement park with one-of-a-kind handcrafted rides geared to children between the ages of 2-12 years old. Check out their attractions page for descriptions of all their rides

IDNYC cardholders will receive 2-for -1 admission with their IDNYC card! Please note that this benefit applies to the entry fee only and does not include individual ride fees or wristbands. To take advantage of the discount, you must show your IDNYC card at the Victorian Gardens box office when purchasing tickets.

IDNYC benefitsNew Victory Theater
The New Victory Theater is New York City’s premier performing arts nonprofit entirely devoted to kids and families. Located on iconic 42nd Street, The New Victory presents extraordinary productions of theater, dance, circus, opera and music from around the world at affordable prices. See their performance schedule here.

IDNYC Cardholders get a 20% discount on tickets for evening (5 pm and 7 pm) performances. To take advantage of the discount, enter your IDNYC card number at NewVictory.org/IDNYC. Cardholders also can redeem the discount by calling 646.223.3010 with the IDNYC card number (located on the front of the card), or by showing the IDNYC card when purchasing tickets at the New Victory box office in person. Restrictions apply.
