One of the great insider secrets of New York City is the regular schedule of FREE events at Lincoln Center, mostly on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, year-round. They include concerts, dancing to live bands, film screenings, storytelling for kids, and more.
The secret spot is the David Rubenstein Atrium, on Broadway and 62nd St., close enough to outlets of the Apple Store, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Century 21 and TJMaxx to make a day of it. Or at least an evening or morning.
In addition to being a thriving performance space, the Atrium serves as a public visitors’ center, discount ticket facility for Lincoln Center events, and the starting point for Lincoln Center Guided Tours.
FREE Atrium events fall under these categories:
Atrium 360°: Widen your worldview with our signature performance series encompassing the best of NYC and a diverse cross section of music, dance, theater, spoken word, and more.
¡VAYA! 63: Get on your feet at these popular dance parties fueled by pioneers and torchbearers of New York’s Latin music scene.
Outside (In)dia: Expand your ideas of Indian classical music with a look from the outside in at this cutting-edge concert series presented in collaboration with The India Center Foundation and Brooklyn Raga Massive.
Talks: Never stop learning with the New York Philharmonic’s lecture series Insights at the Atrium, plus artist-led discussions, roundtables, interviews, and more.
LC Kids: Brighten your family’s Saturday mornings with music and stories by some of the most beloved figures in kid culture.
In addition to a performance space, the Atrium serves as a public visitors’ center, discount ticket facility (at the Zucker Box Office), and the starting point for Lincoln Center Guided Tours.
