Start the first week of the year in NYC with one of these FREE weekday events:
Tuesday:
Three Kings Day Parade: Live camels, colorful puppets, parrandas, music, and dancing at the Museo del Barrio’s 38th annual celebration. The parade route begins at 106th Street and Lexington Avenue and ends at 115th Street and Park Avenue. After the parade, free live music by Pablo Mayor and friends, and free admission to the museum galleries. Starts at 11:30 a.m. Event website.
Thursday:
Screening of Disney’s Enchanted: At the inflatable, heated Sugarcube pop-up space at the South Street Seaport. Screening is at 7pm, and since there are no reservations, get there early enough to get a seat. The film stars Amy Adams, James Marsden, Susan Sarandon, and Patrick Dempsey.
Screenings of top 1930s and 1940s films: Films starring Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Lana Turner and others, at the Mid-Manhattan Library, Mondays to Thursdays in January. See this recent NYCOTC posting for additional info.
