The popular NYC Summer Streets program returns for the first three Saturdays of August, closing seven miles of Manhattan streets to motorized traffic and turning the car free streets into one long street fair, with water slides, music and more along the route.
From the Brooklyn Bridge to the Upper East Side, Lafayette Streets, Park Avenue and Park Avenue South will be for the exclusive use of bicyclists, joggers and walkers.
This is the 11th annual Summer Streets, growing in popularity each year, with nearly 300,000 people attending last year’s event.
The theme for 2018 is “finding joy in unexpected moments”, which includes activities such as live music performances, walking tours, food stands, a biplane and more..
No cars allowed, 7 AM to 1 PM on August 4, 11 and 18.
Therest stops that double as activity fun zones, and have water refill stations so you keep hydrated.
