DHL is celebrating its participation in the upcoming Formula E racing in NYC by offering three days of FREE rides in the best-selling EV sedan on the planet, the Nissan LEAF.
The free rides are throughout Manhattan on July 11, 12 and 13, leading up to the Formula E season championship in Brooklyn.
Score a free ride in one of 16 DHL-branded Nissan LEAF electric cars, from 10am to 4pm each day, at designated pickup locations in Midtown, Flatiiron and The Village.
The zero-emission eco-friendly Nissan LEAF cars are a perfect partner for the all-electric race series, as well as a perfect city car.
DHL is a founding partner of Formula E, the world’s first and only fully electric single-seater, open-wheel Formula-style car racing series.
As Official Logistics Partner, DHL is responsible for all logistical moves for the 10 competing teams and Formula E’s traveling infrastructure, delivering as many as 40 vehicles to each race.
Multiple vehicles are needed for each team, both for back-ups and because in Formula E races, drivers switch vehicles at the half-way point, because that’s faster than switching batteries and tires.
Just as Formula E breaks pushes the envelope on the race track by running environmentally sustainable vehicles, DHL was the first global logistics company to set an ambitious climate protection goal: to optimize its carbon efficiency by 30% by the year 2020.
Here’s where to find your FREE ride –
Wednesday, July 11th – Midtown, at Lexington Ave and 43rd St.
Thursday, July 12th – Flatiron, at Fifth Ave. and 27th St.
Friday, July 13th – The Village, at Fifth Ave and 9th St.
Here’s how to get a FREE ride:
1) Download the DHL Mobility Quest App
2) Show the staff and join the queue, which won’t be long considering there are 16 vehicles in the fleet
3) Enjoy a free zero emission ride through Manhattan in a Nissan Leaf.

In addition to helping you get a free ride in a Nissan LEAF, the DHL app offers Formula E games. Collect augmented reality objects for the various cities in the Formula E circuit for the chance to win a prize at each race.
