NYC SummerStage, the annual series of FREE popular outdoor music concerts in New York City parks in all five boroughs, begins June 2nd, with performances just about every day through Labor Day 2018.
Top performers include R&B, Latin, hip hop and jazz, folk, and the annual Metropolitan Opera Recital series, plus dance performances, and a special orchestral performance of David Bowie’s Blackstar, and the annual SummerStage Kids and SummerStage Family day.
The calendar is stuffed with world-famous performers from NYC, indluding Kool & the Gang and the Harlem Gospel Choir with Melba Moore.
The list of performers for June also includes a Klezmer festival and Big Daddy Kane. And that’s just in June.
And it’s all FREE.
The 100-ish music and dance performances are just part of the NYC FREE summer season, which includes performances by the New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks, The Central Park Film Festival, Monday night movies in Bryant Park, and more.
SummerStage concerts are FREE, except for a few ticketed ticketed fund-raising concerts including Dispatch, Jason Mraz, and an evening of New Orleans jazz, performing in July and August.
