Operation Slumber: Sleepover at Intrepid Museum

POSTED BY
Evelyn Kanter

sleepover at intrepid museum

Sleep over on a real aircraft carrier berthed in the Hudson River. Operation Slumber aboard Intrepid Sea, Air + Space Museum is booking sleepover dates for the rest of 2017, including the only adults only event in September, and seven more sleepovers for kids before Christmas.

It is a unique and memorable event for a favorite person in your life, including yourself, and it’s never too soon to think about holiday gifts.

Adults enjoy after-hours access to the Museum, dinner and drinks on the flight deck and morning yoga overlooking the river.  In between,

  • Explore the submarine, Concorde and special exhibits
  • See movies in the Museum’s theater
  • Taste wine and beer from the ship’s ports of call
  • Set out on an Instagram scavenger hunt

Young adventurers age 6-17 get after-hours guided tours of the ship and Space Shuttle Pavilion, home of the USS Enterprise, and sleep among the aircraft, just like enlisted sailors once did, snacks and breakfast.  In between,

  • Educational activities, guided tours and exploratory talks
  • Unlimited rides in a flight simulator
  • Pop-up planetarium shows

Participants also get a FREE voucher for museum entry within the next 60 days..

In addition to the adults-only sleepover on September 22nd, remaining dates in 2017 for Operation Slumber for kids are

September 23(featuring Drones)October 14
October 28(Halloween theme)November 4
November 11(GIRLS ONLY)November 18
December 16(Holiday theme)

If you are interested, don’t waste time booking a spot, since these opportunities do sell out, despite the price.  Cost is $359 for adults and $120 for kids.
