Fifth Annual Hot Sauce Expo

Hot stuff! Feel the heat  with unlimited tastes from more than 40 hot sauce vendors, food and drink to cool down the tastebuds, a hot sauce eating contest and more. Event is in Downtown Brooklyn, this weekend,  April 22/23.

Bacon and Beer Classic at Citi Field

Taste hundreds of craft brew samples and over 40 mouthwatering bacon dishes created by local chefs and restaurants. While you sip and savor, listen to live music, join in fun games or compete in a bacon-eating contest. General Admission includes unlimited samples of bacon dishes and craft beer, a complimentary tasting glass, live music, and games throughout the Citi Field concourse.

Up the ante on your indulgence with a VIP ticket that includes early access via an expedited line, access to a specialty lounge on the warning track and in the dugouts, special dishes and beer cocktails including a pork belly tasting, DIY BLT bar and entry to win a pair of premium 2017 home game tickets.  Power Hour tickets include General Admission plus one-hour early admission into the stadium and first access to bacon dishes and beers through an exclusive, expedited line. 7th Annual Vegetarian Food Festival

Whether your motivation is health- or environment-related, if you are experimenting with, or planning to adopt a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle, this event will both encourage you and educate you.  More than 125 vendors will be on hand with a plethora of produce and products. You’ll also hear some incredible speakers, including plant-based doctors, authors, chefs, fitness professionals and more. There’s an area with fun kids’ activities, too.  Event is in Chelsea, the weekend of May 21/21

Ripley’s Believe it or Not! and Beer and Burger Tasting

Build up a thirst marveling at hundreds of weird, unusual and downright freaky artifacts, from shrunken heads to a six-legged cow, displayed in more than 20 themed galleries. After you’ve picked your jaw up off the floor and filled your phone with selfies, enjoy a beer and a bite at the Heartland Brewery Chophouse. You’ll get to sample 5-ounce sips of classic beers, such as the crisp and smooth Cornhusker lager and zesty Indiana pale ale. The deal also includes your choice of burger, whether beef, turkey, bison, or veggie.  Located in Times Square.
