Play NYC is video game convention, where you can play games, meet developers, even pitch your own video game concept. It’s a weekend-long a gamer’s paradise in August of all things video games. Four floors of the historic Hammerstein Ballroom in Midtown will be jam-packed with over 100 developers and studios old and new, big and small, offering up all the latest games for you to play.
It’s New York’s first gaming convention for both creators and players, featuring talks from 20 of the industry’s biggest video game names, plus you can meet and mingle with fellow fans and pros at the Playcrafting after-party.

VR World NYC is where you can strap on a pair of goggles, and – virtually – climb Mt. Everest, take the wheel of a Formula One racecar, walk in space, or grab a pair of katana swords and slice up some fruit. You can do all of that and more – virtually. There are more than 50 virtual reality activities here, your chance to try out cutting-edge entertainment technology via an array of immersive films, multi-player adventures and captivating flight simulators.
Along the way, you’ll have the chance to walk a plank suspended 60 stories in the air, become Picasso in space, or descend into the depths of the sea, just by simply strapping on a VR headset. There’s a VR bar onsite, with real refreshments, and if you need a cultural break you can step inside an art gallery of VR masterpieces.
