New York City’s 9/11 Memorial, at the World Trade Center, has welcomed an astounding one million visitors since opening officially just three months ago, on Sept. 11, 2011, the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attack that changed us all forever.
Visiting the 9-11 Memorial is FREE, but you have to have a reservation ticket.

I visited recently, and it is a powerful, sobering experience.
The ‘footprints’ where the two World Trade Center towers once stood are bordered by waterfalls and marble slabs engraved with the names of the more than three thousand men, women and children who perished that day. The waterfalls represent our tears and that the hole in our hearts can never be filled.
