NY Times Travel Show 2017 discount tickets

See the world without leaving Manhattan, at the annual NY Times Travel Show. Get half-price tickets to more than 500 exhibitors, cooking demos and taste samplings, spa treatments, seminars with top travel experts, and book signings by top travel guidebook authors.

Plus, there are cultural performances, an Adrenalin Zone for the kids, and the chance to win free vacations.

The New York Times Travel Show is Saturday/Sunday, January 28/29, at the Javits Convention Center.  Discount tickets are $8, less then half the walk-up price of $20.

Here’s what you can expect at the newly expanded Taste of the World exhibition, a culinary travel showcase featuring celebrated chefs and culinary personalities from around the world:

Doug Duda, host of the A&E International television series on culinary travel, gets everyone ready for a full day of worldwide food and drink exploration with breakfast crepes.

Taste of Japan – Discover the joys of okonomiyaki, a savory Japanese-style pancake.

Savory Pies From London – A taste of international diplomacy, including specialties from London culinary ambassador, chef Bill Yosses; and Karen L. Christensen, deputy assistant secretary for overseas citizens services at the U.S. Department of State. Special feature: chef Bill’s meat pies from the upcoming Broadway production of “Sweeney Todd.”

The New Wave of Costa Rican Traditional Cuisine – Discover the country’s flavorful cuisine with Greentique Hotel’s take on two traditional dishes with a twist, presented by the Costa Rica Tourism Board.

South African Tourism Presents “A Taste of Cape Town” – Sample some of the city’s most famous culinary inventions, and delight in The Mother City’s unique blend of adventure, culture and safari offerings.

Celebrity Chef Roy Yamaguchi showcases an authentic Pan-Asian dish that will be featured in his first restaurant-at-sea aboard MSC Cruises’ revolutionary new ship MSC Seaside, debuting in Dec. 2017.

New York Times Travel editor Monica Drake brings a recent food travel article to life with writer Ethan Hauser, Skylight Inn pit master Sam Jones and some delicious barbecue.

Home-Grown Street Food  – Take a journey with the Costa Rican Epicurean Club to Costa Rica’s traditional street food and learn more about the country’s growing organic food festival scene, presented by the Costa Rica Tourism Board.

Biscuits on Parade –  Join celebrity chef Art Smith as he prepares his signature biscuits and serves them with his favorite shakshuka (Mediterranean eggs) that he learned on a U.S. State Department Diplomatic Culinary Partnership trip to the West Bank in Israel.

Join famed culinary cultural traveler Adam Richman, as he cooks up one of his favorite tastes from Rome — Cacio e Pepe — featured in his cookbook, Straight Up Tasty.

Chocolate Crush  – The Costa Rica Tourism Board whips up some tasty organic chocolate treats, compliments of Sibu Chocolates.

The World’s Best Cup of Coffee – Taste the difference of a fresh cup of organically grown Costa Rican coffee and find out how Hotel Finca Rosa Blanca’s high-end tourism is affecting positive change in local communities.

Fresh From Florida Chef Justin Timineri creates an Open-Faced Florida Shrimp Sandwich with Avocado, presented by Visit Florida.

Returning to the show for the second year is the popular Wellness Travel Pavilion. with spa treatments, plastic surgery consultations, product giveaways and more.
