All aboard the newest routes for NYC Ferry service on the East River. Starting this week ferries go between Wall St. and the Bronx, and later this month between the Lower East Side and Long Island City.
Fares are the same as an MTA subway or bus ride, which means $2.75, or less if you have a weekly or monthly pass or half-price Senior pass.
The new Bronx route begins Wed. Aug. 15th with four stops:
Soundview/Clason Point, East 90th Street, East 34th Street and Wall Street/Pier 11. End to end, the trip is 54 minutes.
The new Lower East Side route begins two weeks later, on Wed., Aug. 29th, with five stops:
Long Island City at Gantry Plaza State Park, East 34th Street, Stuyvesant Cove/20th Street and FDR Drive, Corlears Hook on the East River Promenade, and Wall Street/Pier 11. End to end, that trip is 32 minutes.
The ferries are operated by Hornblower, which also operates NYC sightseeing boats.

NYC Ferry launched in spring 2017 and already has carried more than 5 million passengers on routes to Astoria, South Brooklyn, Rockaway, and multiple stops on the Manhattan side of the East River.
All six ferry lines have battery-charging stations and concession stands, and Wi-Fi is on its way, too.
