Are you registered to vote in the upcoming Presidential and Congressional election on November 6th? If not, National Voter Registration Day wants you to sign up.
In an historic effort aimed at registering tens of thousands of new voters in a single day, a coalition of grassroots organizations in New York City and New York State are organizing more than 100 events on September 25th to generate genuine excitement about participating in the political process, and get you registered.
This is a non-partisan effort that includes the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG), League of Women Voters, Common Cause/NY and the NYC Campaign Finance Board, which are holding more than 50 registration drives around the NYC metro area, with the goal of registering 10,000 new NYC voters.
Check the New York State National Voter Registration Day website to locate a registration drive location near you, or to volunteer to help others register. If you don’t vote, you don’t have the right to complain about who wins.
