Nathan’s Famous is celebrating its 100th birthday, and the official opening of NYC beaches, by rolling back the price of a hot dog to 5¢ apiece. That was the original regular price in 1916 when Nathan’s Famous opened on the Coney Island boardwalk.
The five cent hot dog is today only, May 28, 2016, at the original location only, and between 11AM and 2PM only.
But there’s also a 5¢ coupon deal at participating restaurants and supermarkets for anybody who can’t get to Coney Island today.
Nathan’s Famous original location, of course, is at the corner of Stillwell and Surf Avenues in Coney Island.
The 5¢ hot dog deal is valid 11AM to 2PM only, with a limit of two per customer. So, for a dime, you can get two Nathan’s Famous hot dogs. What a deal!
Also, everybody who gets the deal also gets a Commemorative Certificate. Just be careful not to dribble mustard and sauerkraut on it, in case you want to frame it.
Can’t get to Coney Island today? Register for five cent coupons valid for a buy-one-get-one-for-5¢ hot dog offer at participating Nathan’s locations nationwide, and for a buy-one-get-one-for-5¢ pack of Nathan’s hot dogs at supermarkets all over.
These coupons can be redeemed through June 30, 2016.
Just so you know – May 28th is National Hamburger Day, but because it is Nathan’s Famous 100th birthday today, the company has declared today Saturday, May 28, as 5¢ Hot Dog Day.
The traditional Nathan’s Famous hot dog is served with spicy mustard and sauerkraut. Putting anything else on your hot dog is – oh, don’t get me started.
