Get out those dancing shoes for the final week of Midsummer Night Swing 2016, the annual outdoor dance festival at Lincoln Center, with a rotating roster of live bands tonight through Saturday, July 8th. Then the dance floor makes way for the FREE concerts and dance performances of Lincoln Centers Out of Doors Festival.
As always, Midsummer Night Swing 2016 wraps up with the Big Band sounds of the Harlem Renaissance Orchestra on Saturday evening, and a special FREE dance program for kids and families Saturday afternoon. Plus, there are nightly FREE dance lessons by top NYC dance studio instructors.
Individual tickets are $17, or you can buy a pass and save a couple of bucks on each ticket. There’s also snack and beverage kiosks, and a bag check.
Here’s the schedule for the final week, with dance lessons beginning at 6:30PM and the dancing at 7:15PM until 10PM:
Tuesday, July 5: Gregio Uribe Big Band, with a dance lesson teaching Cumbia
Wednesday, July 6th: Robby Rydell featuring City Rhythm Orchestra. Golden Oldies from one of the original 1950s and 1960s recording stars, with a Lindy Hop dance lesson.
Thursday: July 7th: Astoria Tang Orchestra with Daniel Binelli, and a Tango dance lesson.
Friday, July 8th: Tatiana Eva-Marie & the Avalon Jazz Band with a Charleston dance lesson.
Saturday, July 9th: Big Band Swing with the Harlem Renaissance Orchestra wraps up Midsummer Night Swing, preceded by a Lindy Hop dance lesson.
Saturday Afternoon: FREE LC Kids Dance Swing & Latin at 2:30pm. Dancers young and old will be introduced to merengue, tango, salsa, and swing in a fun and family-friendly atmosphere.
