Meet NYC celebrity chefs in Union Square today to talk about how they find and use certified sustainable ingredients, and how you can, too. The chefs are appearing at the NYC Union Square Greenmarket on behalf of the Rainforest Alliance and its “Follow the Frog Week” a global, week long campaign highlighting sustainable certified goods and services.
Follow the frog to Union Square between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to learn about the Rainforest Alliance CertifiedTM green frog seal which indicates products from well-managed farms and forests that meet rigorous, independent standards for environmental and social sustainability. The seal is becoming a familiar sight in grocery stores, coffee chains and specialty stores throughout New York City, and certified sustainable ingredients are increasingly important in the kitchens of New York’s leading restaurants.
The chefs will be speaking at a panel discussion on sustainable food at 1 p.m., Union Square North Pavilion, along 17th Street between Union Square West and Park Avenue.
- Chef Galen Zamarra of Mas Farmhouse
