Bryant Park turns into Kuala Lumpur and Penang for a two-day festival of Malaysian food and crafts. The first-ever Malaysian Winter Market at Bryant Park’s Fountain Terrace is Wednesday and Thrusday, February 20 and 21, features food from top NYC restaurants including including Fatty Crab,Laut, Nyonya, Penang, New Malaysia, Bentara, and ‘wichcraft, and Brooklyn-based supper club Auria’s Malaysian Kitchen.
Dishes will be on sale for $4 to $8 each day for lunch from 11:30am – 2:30pm and dinner from 5:30pm – 9:00pm. There also will be free tastings of traditional Malaysian food products, from noodle bowls to breads, some of which will be available for sale. It’s all happening inside heated tents decorated with colorful umbrellas and street lanterns reminiscent of Malaysian street markets. There’s full information on the Malaysia Kitchen NYC website.
