Get ready for the 40th Annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, on the East River again this year. As usual, it will be the largest fireworks display in the USA combined with performances by some of the world’s top recording stars.
This year, country music star Kenny Chesney is the headline performer, along with a salute to the American spirit through a dynamic score of patriotic favorites performed by the acclaimed United States Air Force Band. Plus, an exhilarating new arrangement of America the Beautiful, with vocals by Jennifer Holliday and the USAF Band.
And, of course, and of course the largest Independence Day fireworks display in the nation.The display lasts 25 minutes. It will begin at 9:25 p.m. and will feature more than 52,000 shells. Get there early if you want a good view; the city is expecting 3 million people to watch the event.

There will be four barges between 23rd St. and 59th St., easily seen from North Brooklyn and Queens, and two more below the Brooklyn Bridge, to make the fireworks spectacular more easily visible to Southern Brooklyn and eastern Staten Island.
