Want to try skiing or snowboarding, but not sure if you want to go all in? Three resorts in the Northeast are offering a FREE 90-minute beginner lesson, equipment and lift ticket package in January and March.
The three resorts are Jiminy Peak in the Berkshires, Bromley Mountain in southern Vermont, and Cranmore Mountain Resort in North Conway, N.H. The free learning packages are Monday, Jan. 19 and Sunday, Mar. 15,
The FREE learning program is limited to 75 participants each day at Bromley and Jiminy, and 50 at Cranmore, so if you are interested, register before the slots fill up.
I’ve been a skier since college, and love zooming downhill, and encourage everyone to learn, and have fun in the snow.
The beginner’s lesson is called Terrain- Based Learning (TBL). Skiers and riders will progress through the learning playground’s mellow rollers, camel humps, mini-halfpipes, banks, berms, and spines, all adding fun and excitement to a relatively flat beginner area.
Specifics vary from resort to resort:
For Bromley, register here or call 802 824 5522 x301.
At Jiminy, the free beginner lift ticket accesses the easier Magic Carpet, Cricket and Novice chairs and a new Pump Track with gentle rollers with banked turns to help beginners gain confidence going downhill. Register here or call 413 738 5500 ext 3002.
The free program at Cranmore includes a gift bag, most likely filled with things like lip balm and discount coupons for future skiing or riding. For reservations, call 603 356 5511 x 333.
And remember, kids ski and snowboard free in New York State all season. Click here for full information.
