Yes, LaGuardia Airport can be frustrating these days, as it rebuilds into a great modern airport.
Eating at the LaGuardia Airport already has been upgraded, with options including Pat LaFrieda’s burgers, Brooklyn Brewery and other local craft beers, sushi, a wine bar with 101 choices by the glass, and more.
Here’s a guide to eating and drinking at LaGuardia, before or after a flight, and where to find them, before or after security.
LaGuardia’s Six Standout Dining Options
: Airport Restaurant folks OTG Management opened this trattoria with famed chef Michael White. It serves antipasti, panini, pastas, and pizza. The menu also has coffee and toasts.
- Terminal C, gate C30
Artichoke Pizza: This NYC local pizza favorite is part of the food court inside LGA’s Terminal C. Artichoke’s namesake slice is the preferred choice here.
- Terminal C, Post-Security in the Food Court
Biergarten: This is a beer bar with a solid list of craft beers selected by Brooklyn Brewery’s master brewer Garrett Oliver. It also serves German-influenced sandwiches, entrees, and small plates. This is quite possibly the best place to kick back at LaGuardia, and the food is surprisingly good.
- Terminal C, Post-Security in the Food Court
Custom Burgers by Pat La Frieda: Famed meat purveyor Pat LaFrieda helped develop the meat blend for the burgers here, which are made to order, and served “with all the fixings.” Plus they also offer milkshakes, made in-house.
- Terminal C, Post-Security in the Food Court, and Terminal D, Post-Security in the Food Court
Bisoux: As part of Delta’s star-studded culinary redesign of Terminal D a few years back, Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson (formerly of Balthazar and Minetta Tavern, and now at Frenchette in Tribeca), designed this Provencal-inspired bistro. Croque monsieurs and duck confit are among the items on the menu, and everything can be ordered to-go.
- Terminal D, Post-Security, Gate D11
Terminal A/Marine Air Terminal/Delta Shuttle
You have three options here: WorldBean (Post-Security, A2), which serves coffee, smoothies, and snacks, Yankee Clipper (Pre-Security, Rotunda), which serves sandwiches, burgers, and breakfast, or Cibo Express Gourmet
- Post-Security, Departure Gates) for a grab-and-go option
Terminal B/Central Terminal Building
Burger lovers have a couple of good options to choose from here.
Best is Metro Burger Bar (Post-Security, near Gate A3), where the burgers are made with Pat LaFrieda beef and the menu also has various salads and snacks.
But there’s also an outpost of America’s favorite burger: Five Guys (Pre-Security, Food Court near Concourse D), where the menu is as good as any other outpost of the chain.
If you’re looking for a healthier option, head to Angelina’s Metro Market (Pre-Security, Food Court between Concourses B and C, and Post-Security, by Gate B4) for made-to-order salads, fresh pasta entrees, a panini bar, and more.
For breakfast, your best bet is Six Blocks Bakery (Post-Security, Gate B2), which gets its pastries from Balthazar — so you’re guaranteed a gourmet croissant.
For grab-and-go snacks, the terminal offers four locations of Au Bon Pain and five locations of Auntie Anne’s.
