The annual Kids Food Fest in Bryant Park this weekend is all about healthy choices for the entire family, with FREE cooking demos, exercise classes and more. The goal is to encourage healthy eating habits and combat the growing problem of childhood obesity.
Kids Food Festival 2016 is Friday and Saturday, March 5th and 6th, 10am to 4pm both days.
There are hourly FREE events both days, FREE healthy food samples, and FREE cooking demos, and FREE giveaways, so unless you or your kid is a serious foodie with seriously deep pockets, there’s no need to spend $25 for the ticketed one-hour cooking demos.
$25 for your six-year-old to learn how to decorate cupcakes or drain pasta, while you watch? That’s not NYC on the cheap, and that’s something you can do at home for free.

Shame on you Kids Food Festival for charging $25 for cooking classes for kids in a public NYC park!
Shame on you Bryant Park for charging $25 for a kid’s event in a public NYC park!
At least it’s a better deal than last year, when it was $25 per person, including for an adult to watch his or her kid.
