Getting an absentee ballot for the upcoming NYC Mayoral primary and election is easier than you think. I’m going to be out of town on Sept. 10th, date of the NYC primary for the next NYC mayor and the next NYC comptroller, and it’s just too important an election to skip.
Getting an absentee ballot took a few minutes on the phone to request one from the NYC Board of Elections, a couple of days to wait for it for the form to arrive in my mailbox, and a couple of minutes to fill out and put back in the mail – in the postage paid envelope provided. You can choose to have the actual absentee ballot be mailed to you, or to pick it up in person at the Board of Elections office in your home borough.
Here’s the website for the NYC Board of Elections, with addresses and phone numbers by borough. If you think you will be out of town for the NYC primary, the expected run-off on election on October 1st ,or the general election on Nov. 5th, be sure to get an absentee ballot.
Every election is an important one. Don’t miss out of having your say on helping choose the next mayor of the most important city on the planet. Besides, if you don’t vote, you don’t have the right to complain about who is elected.
