NYC has the greatest parks on the planet, and you can visit them virtually any time while you are observing stay at home rules to help prevent the spread of this horrible disease.
Join in for live park tours, meditation and fitness classes, gardening and houseplant care programs and activities for kids with the Urban Park Rangers and gardeners.
There’s also a live hawk cam and a live Peregrine falcon cam to keep an eye on a pair of red-tail hawks and a pair of falcons which have returned to the same nest for nearly a decade.
You can’t smell the flowers, but you can see them in their full spring glory, including cherry blossoms like these pictured here..

NYU Hawk Cam
Follow the red-tail hawks who live on a building ledge adjoining one, Washington Square Park.
In 2011, a pair of Red-tailed Hawks began nesting on a ledge outside the office of New York University’s president on the 12th floor of Bobst Library.
The hawks have returned every year since and, once again in spring 2020 they have been visiting the nest. That gives us hope the pair will once again nest, lay eggs, incubate them, and raise one or two Red-tail eyasses.
There also are occasionnal live chats with experts.
There’s also a live cam overlooking a ledge at 55 Water St. in the Financial District.
This one watches a pair of Peregrine falcons.

The NYU Hawk Cam went off the air, shortly after yesterday’s announcement here. Perhaps it was deluged with viewers?
