The 16th Annual Havana Film Festival begins today for a week in NYC with films and talks, some of them FREE, including a panel on how to get funding for your own film or video.
The Havana Film Festival 2015 features the American premiere of a film based on a 1996 conversation between filmmaker Estela Bravo and Gabriel García Márquez about his close friendship with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

This year, the festival celebrates the music of Cuba with vintage films from the 1960s, and current films from elsewhere in Latin America, including Colombia.
Panel discussions and screenings are at several venues in Midtown, including at the King Juan Carlos I Spain Center.
