The new P-EBT payment is automatic, whatever your income or immigration status, whether or not you are employed.
The $420 is for children enrolled in NYC and NY State public schools, to help pay for the FREE school breakfasts and school lunches they might be missing by not attending in-school classes.
If you already have an EBT card or a Medicaid card, the money will automatically be added to your card.
If you do not have an EBT card, you will receive one in the mail.
If you are concerned that the State of New York may not have your correct address, please call 833-452-0096 or email otda.sm.eisp.PEBT@otda.ny.gov.
Families of non-public school students – such as private schools and religious schools – should contact the State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance to learn if they are eligible.
