The most popular film at the recent Tribeca Film Festival was the comedy Chef, about a cranky restaurant owner, his star chef and a food truck. Before it opens to the public this weekend, we have FREE tickets to a pre-opening screening. The film stars Dustin Hoffman, Jon Favreau, Sofia Vergara and John Leguizamo, plus some surprise cameos.
NYCOTC has 50 tickets to give away to the first 25 people who sign up for the screening on Wednesday, May 7 on the Upper West Side. You must be a subscriber to NYCOTC to receive the signup code, which will be sent out at 6 p.m. today. So if you are not already an NYCOTC subscriber, sign up here before 5:59 p.m. to get the link. As the saying goes, membership has its priveleges, and pre-release screening tickets is one of them.
Here’s the plot: When Chef Carl Casper (Jon Favreau) suddenly quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner (Dustin Hoffman), he is left to figure out what’s next. Finding himself in Miami, he teams up with his ex-wife (Sofia Vergara), his friend (John Leguizamo) and his son to launch a food truck. Taking to the road, Chef Carl goes back to his roots to reignite his passion for the kitchen — and zest for life and love.
The film Chef opens to the public on Friday, May 9th in New York and Los Angeles. This is a film for film fans and food fans.
