Head to Pier 40, Hudson River Park on Sunday, Feb. 2nd for a FREE SuperBowl XLVIII party. It’s the 8th Annual Celebrity Beach Bowl, sponsored by DirecTV, and unlike most Super Bowl Week events that are by invitation only or carry a hefty ticket price – like the $2,500 tickets for a concert with John Legend, Marc Anthony and Mary J. Blige – this one is free and open to the public.
There are performances and appearances by Tracy Morgan, Food Network TV celebrity Guy Fieri and Hall of Famer Joe Montana and rock group Paramore. The party is inside an 88,000-square-foot structure that reportedly can withstand hurricane-force wind. It ill be filled with more than 1 million pounds of sand, which will help keep it in place.
Check the NYCOTC Super Bowl XLVIII Fan Page for all the news for fans of the Big Game.
Free on first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 10 a.m.. Normally, we would give you the event website, but there is nothing on the Hudson River Park Trust website, which appears not to have been updated since before Halloween. We found information about the DirecTV Celebrity Beach Bowl on an information site for journalists covering the Super Bowl.
Pier 40 is by Chambers Street in Lower Manhattan.
