The NY Public Library, Brooklyn Library and Queens Library systems can help you find a great summer read with Summer Reading 2012, for kids and the grown-ups who love them. The FREE program kicks off on Thursday, June 7th, with a family-friendly event at the Seward Park Library, including including music, art, book signings, and a special appearance by Jeff Kinney, author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Click here for the day’s full schedule. Also this summer, in conjunction with the NYC Department of Education and libraries across New York City, students in grades K-12 can sign up for a brand-new Summer Reading Card. By activating the card, students will be able to get rid of all library fines and start their summer reading off with a clean slate.
