One of the world’s top WWII historians is giving a FREE lecture at the New York Public Library examining why Hitler lost and the Allies won. Dr. Andrew Robert is the author or editor of a dozen books, including the recent best-seller The Storm of War, and has received Britain’s two top military history prizes, among other awards. His lecture examines whether different decisions on both sides could have changed the outcome. BTW — World War Two lasted for 2,74 days, cost $1.5 Trillion, and claimed the lives of more than 50 million people. Why Hitler Lost is at 1:15 PM, Thursday, January 10th, in the South Court Auditorium of the main branch of the NYPL on Fifth Avenue, now called the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. There are no reservations, so arrive early enough to get a seat at this FREE event in New York City.
There’s also an excellent exhibit at the New York Historical Society, WWII & NYC showing how New York and its metropolitan region experienced and contributed to the Allied victory. Click here for full exhibit information.
