Take Your Eyes to the Street celebrates urban design guru Jane Jacobs, with two days of FREE guided walking tours in all five boroughs of New York City. There are more than 100 free walking tours in NYC, plus the event is being celebrated in 100 other US cities with free walking tours to celebrate city life.
Jane’s Walk NYC tours include one themed about the Roosevelts, including Theodore Roosevelt’s birthplace on the East Side and Freedom Park on Roosevelt Island, named for FDR. Another takes you through Arthur Avenue, the Little Italy of the Bronx. Or, tour the National Lighthouse Museum on Staten Island, just a two minute walk from the ferry.
There are simply too many tours to mention here, so check out the Take Your Eyes to the Street website and take your pick. There are no reservations, so just show up wearing comfortable walking shoes.
