Denny’s opens its first NYC location today with another first: a full-service cocktail bar also serving up happy hour specials.
The location in Lower Manhattan also features locally inspired decor and some menu items not found in other Denny’s around the country.
It’s all a radical departure for the family-friendly restaurant chain, which hired a NYC restaurant consultant to develop a cocktail menu that combines old fashioned pre-Prohibition cocktails and more modern concoctions, as well as beer and wine.
As a full-service diner, the Manhattan Denny’s will be open daily from 5 a.m. until midnight, at 150 Fulton St., near the Brooklyn Bridge and the Financial District.
In addition to the NYC-specific menu items and bar, the restaurant is serving chain-wide specials, including:
- “Fit Fare” – healthy choices like egg whites and hearty wheat breads that can be substituted into any meal for no extra charge. Using the expansive Build Your Own Grand Slam menu, diners have more than 250 ways to build a meal with 550 calories or less, and 32 ways to build a meal of 400 calories or less.
- Free Birthday Grand Slam®– free for the birthday guy or gal who can show proof that it’s their birthday, for dine-in only.
- AARP Members Save 15 Percent – Show your AARP membership card at participating Denny’s restaurants and save 15 percent off your total check every day.
