Get financially fit at FREE financial planning workshops and individual counseling sessions with experts on credit, housing, mortgages, Medicaid, retirement, saving for college and more. Financial Planning Day 2015 is Friday, April 24 at the New York Public Library’s Business Library, in the SIBL branch on 34th Street and Madison Avenue.
Financial Planning Day identifies the financial issues that all of us New Yorkers are concerned about. That includes investing, retirement, saving for college, and assists NYC residents in improving their financial future. It’s especially timely the week after Tax Day, when all of us realized we could be smarter about our finances.
Workshops and classes are taught by financial experts from the Office of Financial Empowerment, the SEC, Financial Planning Association of New York and other financial agencies.
Workshops begin at 11:15am and there are also opportunities to meet one-on-one throughout the day with financial consultants, who can address personal issues, such as reducing credit card debt, buying a home, or managing finances following job loss, retirement, or unemployment.
Note: You must sign up on site for counseling sessions. There is no advance registration.
Also on hand will be experts from the following financial and legal organizations New York City and New York State government agencies:
