OnSunday, April 21st, get rid of your unwanted electronics, pesticides, antifreeze, outdated medications and more in a safe way that doesn’t pollute the environment or endanger yourself. Bring your unwanted items to a special EWaste Recycling event on the Upper West Side. The drop-off is on Amsterdam Avenue between West 74th nd 75th Streets, between 10 AM and 4 PM, rain or shine.
The recycling program is sponsored by Upper West Recycling and the Lower East Side Ecology Center, where you can also find a list of accepted donations.
There also are two other recycling events this month sponsored by the NYC Dept. of Sanitation. It’s called SAFE, for Solvents, Automotive, Flammables, Electronics. That’s everything from old video game consoles to mothballs, pool chemicals to printers, old cans of paint to old bottles of nail polish, burned out flourescent lamps and burned out computer monitors.
Get a complete list of what is SAFE for disposal on the NYC government website — here’s the link. And here’s the schedule of drop-off locations. All events are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.
