Join in this national singalong of favorite songs from Disney movies and Broadway shows, being broadcast on ABC. The Disney Family Singalong feature top entertainers and their families performing from their homes.
Celebrity guests include Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Alan Menken, Elle Fanning, Josh Groban, Darren Criss, Tori Kelly and Marcus Scribner; a vocal warm up by Kristin Chenoweth, and a special introduction by Elle Fanning.
The Disney Family Singalong is being broadcast tonight, Thursday, April 16, at 8pm.
It’s the first of two special Disney shows that are fund-raisers for families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Friday night is a live-strreaming version of the show, Celebrating 25 Magical Years of Disney on Broadway, broadcast originally last winter, with cast members from The Lion King, Hamilton, Aladdin, Beetlejuice, and Mary Poppins.
They are performing songs and dances from Disney shows on Broadway, plus interviews, hosted by Frozen‘s Ryan McCartan live streaming from his family’s basement.
The Disney Family Singalong is hosted by Ryan Seacrest.
Here’s what to expect, from a press release issued by ABC – which is owned by the Disney corporation.
A performance of “We’re All in This Together” with Kenny Ortega and his friends from “High School Musical,” “Descendants,” “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” “Zombies” and beyond, including Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel, Raven-Symoné, Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart, Sarah Jeffrey, Meg Donnelly, Milo Manheim, Joshua Bassett, Olivia Rodrigo, Sofia Wylie, Charli D’Amelio, Dixie D’Amelio; and additional surprise appearances.
Plus, James Monroe Iglehart and the Broadway Company of Disney’s “ALADDIN” will reunite for a rendition of “Friend Like Me.”
Previously announced celebrity guests include Christina Aguilera, Erin Andrews, Bobby Bones, Michael Bublé, Auliʻi Cravalho, Luke Evans, Jordan Fisher, Josh Gad, Derek Hough, Julianne Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, Little Big Town, Donny Osmond, Thomas Rhett, Amber Riley, John Stamos, and others from across various Disney groups.
Since it’s a singalong, there will be animated characters to guide the on-screen lyrics to help you follow in perfect harmony.
In addition to performances and some other Disney magic, the special includes messages to raise awareness and support the efforts of Feeding America for people in unfamiliar circumstances and facing hunger for the first time due to COVID-19.
