The annual ReelAbilities Film Festival features inspiring and touching films and documentaries about autism, Alzheimers, adaptive sports athletes and more, including featuring actors with Down syndrome.
Reel Abilities Film Festival 2017 includes a documentary about a deaf football team, another documentary about the recovery of a paralyzed veteran of tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, a love story between two young people with Downssyndrome, and a film about the world renowned Black Boys of Alabama singing group.
ReelAbilities Film Festival 2017 offers dozens of screenings in multiple locations in all five boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island), plus in Westchester, Rockland and Long Island.
Screenings are between Thursday, March 2 and Wednesday, March 8. See the full schedule here to choose which one or more you want to see.
All films are captioned or subtitled (unless otherwise noted) and all venues are wheelchair accessible. The festival also offersaudio description, ASL interpretation, CART, and information in Braille for select events and upon advance request.
