
Climate Week NYC is an international gathering of businesses, NGOs, institutions and citizens that’s organized by the Climate Group, with speakers including California Governor Jerry Brown, a national leader in sensible eco-friendly government practices; Patricia Espinosa, executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change; and Jovenel Moïse, president of Haiti.
Climate Week NYC coincides with the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly, and brings together political and business-world leaders to discuss global efforts to meet the Paris Agreement on climate. Throughout the week, city venues will host panels, seminars and exhibits, many of which are open to the public.
Climate Week NYC also coinides with the annual FREE Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, on Saturday, Sept. 29, with superstars including Janet Jackson, John Legend, Cardi B and Hugh Jackman.

This short play by climate scientist Chris Rapley and playwright Duncan Macmillan, presented in a dramatized reading, highlights the causes and consequences of climate change.
