Dos Caminos is offering five days of $5 Cinco de Mayo food and drink specials leading up to the holiday that celebrates the victory of the Mexican army over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
Dine at any of the Dos Caminos locations – the original in Meatpacking, the brand new Times Square location as well as Meatpacking, Park Avenue South, SoHo and Midtown East – Sunday, May 1st to Thursday, May 5th for a different $5 deal each day:
Sunday, May 1st – Tropical Margarita Paletas
Monday, May 2nd – Cochinita Pibil Street-Style Tacos
Tuesday, May 3rd – Churros y Chocolate
Wednesday, May 4th – Coronas
Thursday, May 5th – Cinco de Mayo menu specials -include Alaskan King Crab Guacamole, Soft Shell Crab Cemita (negra modelo battered jumbo soft shell crabs, apple-smoked bacon, avocado, chipotle aioli on a soft bolillo roll, mole fries) and Crepas De Cajeta (banana stuffed pistachio crepes with papantla vanilla ice cream and whipped cream).
You can also order a Cinco de Mayo Party Box for those looking to celebrate at home. The $175 box serves ten and includes guacamole, chips, tacos, quesadillas and a margarita mix. It’s available for delivery or pickup. Please pre-order by May 4th to ensure availability.
Just so you know – Cinco de Mayo is often mistaken in the USA to be Mexico’s Independence Day, the most important national holiday in Mexico, which is celebrated on September 16.
