The 15th Annual Holiday Train Show is open at Grand Central Terminal, and it’s FREE again this year. These are classic, vintage Lionel Trains which run on eight separate loops of track through a 34-foot long miniature New York City scene, at the New York Transit Museum Gallery Annex and Store in GCT.
The vintage trains are from the museum’s collection, and will please kids of all ages. Really, who does not love choo choo trains! And who does not love FREE.
Lionel trains, including the Grand Central Express, Metro-North, Pennsylvania Flyer, Polar Express, run along a 34′ long, two-level O-gauge layout, between models of Grand Central Terminal and the North Pole.
Additional miniature trains by American Flyer and Louis Marx & Company, also are on display. Notice we are calling them miniature trains, not model trains. Model trains are toys. They are not toys.
Visit any time Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.through February 26, 2017.
The Transit Museum’s Grand Central Gallery Annex & Store is located off the Main Concourse in the Shuttle Passage. And visit the store for NYC-logo gifts and train-themed gifts.
