Frequent diners at Chipotle Mexican Grill can save plenty of pesos with the chain’s first ever loyalty program, to earn a FREE entrée and other rewards, including free guacamole and chips just for signing up.
The fast-casual Mexican restaurant is launching Chiptopia only through Sept. 30th. Maybe they want to see if the rewards program brings customers back after all the terrible headlines about people getting sick from eating at Chipotle.
Here’s how Chiptopia works:
Pick up a Chiptopia Card at any participating location, or sign up for a digital card, and start the journey toward three rewards levels each month — Mild, Medium and Hot.The card must be registered online for reward redemption.
Each purchase of at least $6 (before tax) earns a FREE entrée and other rewards — alcohol and other exclusions apply. The Chipotpia Card is not a gift card. You can pay by cash, credit card or a Chipotle gift card in the program., but you need to present your Chiptopia card for each transaction, no matter how you pay.
After four purchases in one month, earn a FREE entrée and Mild Status. Make three more purchases that same month to earn another FREE entrée and reach Medium Status. Make two more purchases in that same month to earn yet another FREE entrée and reach Hot Status. Note that these can all be purchases for yourself, or purchases for friends or family that you are paying for and registering with your Chiptopia card.
At the end of each month, your account resets back to zero. There are additional bonuses, too, if you reach levels in each of the three months of the program, July, August and September, including $20 in Chipotle merchandise and catering for 20 people, a $240 value.
