The two museums are The Museum of the City of New York and El Museo del Barrio, neighbors at Fifth Avenue and 104th Streets, at the top of Museum Mile.
Uptown Bounce outdoor events are being held on the front terraces of both museums from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on four Wednesdays, July 24th to august 14th, with a different musical theme each week.
There also will be FREE museum entry with extended hours on all Uptown Bounce nights.
Registration is encouraged to manage space.
Note that Uptown Bounce is for adults. It is not designed for children.
Here’s what’s on the Uptown Bounce 2019 schedule:
Wed., July 24th:
The summer block party eries kicks off with a celebration of the monumental year of 1969. That means old-fashioned rock and roll and disco.
Wed., July 31:
It’s electric! Come as you are for this electric night of music and dancing with Brooklyn-based art collective Papi Juice.
Wed., Aug 7
A tribute to the soundtrack of ’80s New York and our city’s endlessly vibrant downtown scene.
Wed., Aug 14
Uptown Bounce 2019 summer block party series concludes with an ode to classic summertime activities and hits from the ’90s.
Uptown Bounce is a great idea that builds on the success of the annual Museum Mile Festival street fair each June, when a dozen museums along Fifth Avenue offer free admission and special programs.
