Lincoln Center Out of Doors 2016 begins Wednesday, July 20th, with three weeks of FREE concerts and dance performances, events for kids, and more, including a special celebration of the life of rock star and New Yorker Lou Reed, who passed away recently.
Performance locations include the Damrosch Park Bandshell and the David Rubenstein Atrium.
Lincoln Center Out of Doors 2016 opening day is a star-studded concertof words and music with Patti Smith, Lenny Kaye and Tony Shanahan.
Other concerts include country music legend Dwight Yoakam and dance performances by tap dancing legend Maurice Hines and by the Dance Theater of Harlem.
And, there are three FREE Mostly Mozart performances, including of his soaring Jupiter Symphony.
The all-day Lou Reed tribute is July 30th.
