Summer camps that emphasize learning and make it fun are increasingly popular for NYC parents. If your child has a knack for building things, such as LEGO robots, check out Brooklyn Robot Foundry, a new day camp for kids ages 5-12 where they will build and play with robots part of the day and play outside the rest of the time.
Kids will learn the principles of mechanical and electrical engineering while building a 14-foot high robot Godzilla, and build smaller ones to take home and play with. There are three-, four- and five-day sessions, plus weekend robot camp.
Check the Brooklyn Robot Factory website for additional details and to register.
If your child is obsessed with building robots, like the seven-year-old LEGO fan in my life, this camp sounds like summer fun.
