Shine up your chain mail, gird your loins, and take thee hence to the Annual Medieval Festival at The Cloisters,with jesters, jousts with knights on horseback, falconry demonstrations, music, magicians who learned from Merlin not Houdini, and more. Activities for the kids include puppets and a dragon, because you can’t have a medieval fair without a dragon.
And it’s all FREE m’ lords and ladies, from 11:30AM to 6PM, Sunday, September 18, 2016.

The Field of Honuor includes a living chess match and the Oath of Chivalry
The Pageant Stage includes Celtic Dancers and Joey the Jester.

And there will be food and drink from local Washington Heights and Inwood merchants, including Dyckman Beer Co.
The Cloisters, of course, is in Fort Tyron Park, an art-filled Medieval tower that crowns Manhattan’s highest hill, in Inwood.
Nearest subway stops are the A train to 190th St. or Dyckman St.
FWIW — NYC on the Cheap founder and editor Evelyn Kanter grew up in Inwood, and Fort Tryon was “my” park.
