This is a twofer: Slice Out Hunger is hosting the eighth annual Dollar Pizza Party with $1 slices that support the effort to wipe out hunger in NYC and nationwide.
Slice Out Hunger is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization based here in NYC, that believes in using the super powers of pizza for good by using it to raise money to fight hunger.
More than 50 top NYC pizza joints are participating, with 1,500 donated pizzas, plus donated desserts, snack bars and other goodies. There will be choices for Vegans, vegetarians and carnivores.
At six or eight slices per pie, that’s a lot of money to be raised to fight hunger.
Slice Out Hunger is Wednesday, October 5 at St. Anthony’s Church, 155 Sullivan St. at Houston St., starting at 6PM, and ending when the last slice is gone.
Buy tickets online now and avoid the lineup. You can buy tickets in denominations of $10, $25 or $50.
Or, go for the gold with a VIPizza Passport for $100 for you and a pizza partner.VIP status gets you both past the line, plus 10 tickets to start your saucy evening.
Yes, $100 sounds steep, but remember that you are eating and drinking for charity, and you can use remaining tickets for raffle prizes and other goodies.
Get 99 cent slices any time at these 99 Cents pizza spots in NYC.
If you are a buy-the-slice person, here’s how to make the best of the evening from our friends at Brokelyn:
- Slice Out Hunger tickets on-site are CASH ONLY
- It’s one slice per person per pizzeria, so be sure to get in line earlier than later to grabbing a slice from your favorite spot
- Purchase as many tickets as your think you’ll need upon entering, (RED for Pizza/BLUE for Other) because once you’re in, you’re in
- Once you’re out, you’ll have to go back to the back of the line to get in again. No one likes a pizza cutter.
