Again this year, Barnes & Noble is offering one FREE book for kids 12 and under, to encourage summer reading. The program operates this way – write down the titles of eight or ten books on a special form, bring it into a B&N bookstore, and choose one free book from selected titles.
You and the kids have until the end of August to bring in your list of ten books read, and pick out your prize.
Click here to download the Barnes & Noble summer reading program form, or pick one up at your local B&N store. You don’t even have to buy the books — although that is encouraged. Just list the book title and whether you would recommend it to other parents or grandparents.
Books are sorted by recommended ages, and there’s another section for award winners, such as the perennial favorite children’s book, Charlotte’s Web.
This is a terrific program, since it encourages reading when school is not in session.
And thank you Barnes & Noble for continuing this valuable program for another summer.
