Banana Republic is launching another season of 60s-inspired Mad Men fashions even before the AMC hit show returns to television, hopefully in January 2012, for the new season. Clothing inspired by Don Draper and the rest of the cast launch on August 19th, but only to those signed up as Facebook fans of Banana Republic. FB fans get one day to themselves to look and order, then the limited edition line is opened up to the rest of us. If you aren’t signed up already, here’s the link. Or, bypass the like-don’t like Facebook nonsense and go directly to the sale link, which I’m publishing here — you are most welcome.; I’m happy to share. The Mad Men line is designed by the shows own costume designer, Janie Bryant.
Who is your favorite Mad Men character? Mine from last season is Dr. Faye Miller, the blond advertising research expert, portrayed by Cara Buono, a Bronx girl who graduated NYC’s world-famous LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts, also known as the “Fame” school and the equally famous NYU film school. Cara and my daughter became best friends at LaGuardia, and still are — including being maid of honor at one another’s recent weddings. Cara Buono has been nominated for an Emmy for her role in Mad Men last season, wearing clothing that looks much like the Banana Republic Mad Men line.
