Just when you thought you learned how to deal with the construction chaos at LaGuardia Airport, get ready for a new monster mess –
Six airlines are switching terminals this weekend, operating out of their new locations starting on on Saturday, Dec. 9.
Affected are American Airlines, American Shuttle, Delta Shuttle, JetBlue, Alaska Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Spirit Airlines, which all together operate a major chunk of daily flights out of LGA. Regular American and Delta flights, which are not Shuttle flights, are not affected by these terminal changes.
Travel tips for LaGuardia Terminal changes
- In addition to allowing extra travel time to accommodate closed roads and overpasses over Grand Central Parkway, you will need allow even more time (and money) for taxi and car service drivers who haven’t gotten the word.
- The terminal switch makes it even more important to check in online 24 hours before your flight, to have a boarding pass with the correct, most current, terminal location information.
LaGuardia says airline relocation will “Improve the travel experience and accommodate the ongoing redevelopment to build a new unified LaGuardia with better amenities, transportation and overall customer experience.”
If you are flying from LaGuardia on Dec. 9 or after, here’s where the six affected airlines will be –
