Get out of town, get warm, get some unique French-flavored Caribbean food and fun in Martinique for airfare starting at $69 each way from NYC, Boston or Baltimore/Washington, DC. It’s a special fare to introduce us to the low-cost international airline, Norwegian, which is now flying in and out of the United States with bargain fares.
Norwegian Air Shuttle is the third largest low-cost carrier in Europe, the second-largest airline in Scandinavia (after SAS), and the ninth-largest airline in Europe in terms of passenger numbers. Equally important, it has a much better reputation for customer service than such low-cost competitors Ryanair in Europe or Spirit in North America.
There are eight flights a week to and from Fort-de-France, and flights can be booked only on Norwegian’s website. The bargain fares are through April or May, depending on departure city.
New York City’s JFK on Tuesdays, Thursdays. Saturdays and Sundays. Click here to book
Boston on Wednesdays and Sundays. Click here to book.
Baltimore/DC on Mondays and Fridays. Click here to book.
The Martinique Tourism Board has lots of suggestions on what to see and do. Besides the beach, my vote goes to Mount Pelee, a pristine biodiversity site for hiking, and a visit to a historic rum distillery.
